Peritoneal dialysis workshop on February 3, 2024

08:30 - 13:30, hybrid event with TED voting

Hannover Medical School, lecture hall H (teaching building J1) or virtually

Organization: Clinical Department of Nephrology and Hypertension, Hannover Medical School

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Dear colleagues

Peritoneal dialysis thrives on proximity to the patient, but also on personal exchange within the PD team. Accordingly, the 19th Peritoneal Dialysis Workshop in Hanover will take place in person, but will also be accessible virtually.

In terms of content, we have continued to select clinically relevant topics. We would like to present the most important innovations of the ISPD Guidelines 2023 on PD catheter-associated infection.

After CORONA, vacations are being planned again. Reason enough to discuss the current topic, as many details need to be considered when planning.

Dr. Eden will give practical advice on permitted and non-permitted physical activity on PD, taking into account existing international recommendations.

In diabetology, there are many innovations in monitoring and therapy. Dr. Beger will answer whether these are also suitable for our PD patients.

The shortage of specialists in Nursing is omnipresent. In times of staff shortages, we want to inform you about the possibilities, but also the limits of online PD training. Ms. Mikut has recently published on this topic and will report on her experiences.

Mr. PD. Dr. Albert will present the connection between clinical parameters and possible peritoneal changes that can influence and limit PD therapy.

Prof. Schmidt-Ott will hold a PD Journal Club with you.

During the event, you can test your PD knowledge via TED voting and actively participate in the exciting presentations.

We would be delighted to welcome you to Hannover Medical School again this year, both in person and virtually.

Yours sincerely,
Dr. Marcus Hiß Prof. Dr. Kai Schmidt-Ott
