Hypertension Center - European Society of Hypertension Excellence Center
The Hypertension Centre is an interdisciplinary facility or Institutions for the specialized assessment and individual treatment of patients with high blood pressure, especially those with difficult-to-control high blood pressure (refractory hypertension). The aim is to use state-of-the-art methods to carry out a precise diagnosis of the specific form of high blood pressure in order to create and successfully implement individualized treatment concepts.
Diseases/forms of therapy
- Therapy-refractory hypertension (elevated blood pressure values despite three antihypertensive drugs)
- Hypertension during pregnancy,
- Hormonal secondary forms of hypertension: prim. Hyperaldosteronism and Conn syndrome
- Renal artery stenosis: fibromuscular dysplasia (congenital) or atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (acquired)
- Hypertension in young people
- Interventional treatment procedures
Checklist for the outpatient appointment
- A current referral from your family physician or specialist (nephrology/cardiology) at the time of your appointment
- Your health card (health insurance card)
- Current (federal) medication plan
- Blood pressure diary (will be sent to you after the appointment)
- 24h blood pressure measurement
- If available: Previous findings and the last physician's letter
- If available: last CT/MRI on CD incl. findings
