Lysosomal storage diseases with kidney involvement (Fabry disease, cystinosis)
Patients diagnosed with Fabry disease (and cystinosis) are treated at the Fabry Center MHH. The Center also carries out the necessary examinations to clarify the presence of this genetic hereditary disease in cooperation with other disciplines. Furthermore, patients are evaluated with regard to therapy(see also the Center's flyer) and therapy is monitored during the course of treatment.

- Enzymatic and genetic diagnostics to clarify Fabry disease
- Patient care with regard to the coordination and performance of the necessary clinical examinations (e.g. head/heart imaging, ophthalmologic check-up, etc.)
- Patient care in an interdisciplinary team from various specialties (neurology, cardiology, ophthalmology, human genetics, etc.)
- Clinical studies in the field of Fabry disease (including new treatment options)
- Research in the field of lysosomal storage diseases
