Re-certification Neurooncology Center
The Neurooncology Center of the Hannover Medical School under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Joachim K. Krauss was recertified by the DKG Cancer Society until 05.05.2022 as part of an online certification (on-site certification did not take place this year due to corona requirements).

Appointment as an expert of the European Commission
Prof. Dr. med. Joachim K. Krauss was appointed by the European Commission/Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety as Advisor to the Medical Devices Expert Panel in the field of neurology.

Prof. Krauss moderates the plenary session at the 71st Annual Meeting of the DGNC in virtual format
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual meeting of the German Society for Neurosurgery had to be held in virtual format this year. It had actually been planned to hold the event in Lübeck from June 21 to 24, 2020. The plenary session via Zoom was well "attended". The speakers were connected directly from Germany, Canada and Japan.

Digital World Brain Tumor Day of the Neurooncology Center of the MHH
World Brain Tumor Day, organized by Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V., takes place annually on 8 June.
The Neurooncology Center at Hannover Medical School organized World Brain Tumor Day on 19 June 2020.
In previous years, face-to-face events were held on the premises of the MHH. Due to the current situation, the event took place as a live discussion and was broadcast live on Facebook.
After questioning the experts, viewers were able to submit questions as comments, which were then answered live.

Funding DFG research project
The research project "Severity assessment in animal-based research" for the sub-project TP12 "Assessment of well-being in rats: functional neurosurgery in models for neurological diseases, intracranial tumors and behavioral neuroscience" was granted funding in the amount of € 325,150 plus a program allowance of € 71,500 for 36 months.

Mr. Felix Kiepe receives a scholarship worth €870 from the German Society for Neuroscientific Assessment (DGNB) e.V. for the advanced training curriculum "Neuroscientific Assessment".
