Information on the ward
The therapeutic focus is on addictive disorders.
The nursing team on ward 54 consists of full-time and part-time registered nurses, most of whom have completed additional training in social psychiatry. In order to guarantee continuous care, we work a three-shift system. An on-call service is available for emergencies.
We ensure the quality of our care through targeted participation in further and advanced training events, case supervision and inter-ward working groups. Our work is based on the nursing guidelines, the MHH mission statement and the MHH nursing concept.
Our nursing care on ward 54 takes the form of reference care. As care therapists, we act as contact persons for problems, planning therapy steps and setting goals during the inpatient stay. As a reference person, we work closely with the attending physician and provide co-therapeutic support.
Our patients are accommodated in comfortably furnished single and double rooms.
Work shadowing is generally possible on ward 54. However, it is essential that you notify the head of the department in good time if you wish to work shadowing. We ask that you contact us by telephone before submitting a written application so that we can clarify the requirements for a work shadowing placement in advance.
Psychiatric care on our ward is provided on a one-to-one basis and in therapeutic group sessions. As part of the therapy, an individual aftercare plan is drawn up together with you.
We focus on a multi-professional approach for comprehensive care. The close integration of all professional groups (psychologists, social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, medical service) on the ward and good cooperation with other wards in the Department as well as people and Facilities or Institutions providing further treatment guarantee this goal.
It goes without saying that the consumption of alcohol, drugs etc. is not permitted during treatment. In case of suspicion, we reserve the right to carry out bag checks, breath alcohol tests or drug screenings.
Please understand that visitors who are intoxicated with alcohol, drugs or medication will not be tolerated on the ward. This also applies to the carrying of these substances.
As a rule, you are not allowed to leave the ward for the first three days for medical reasons. After that, the medical service will make individual arrangements for each patient. During the course of treatment, there is also the possibility of a stress test at home in consultation with the medical service.
The general visiting hours of the MHH apply to ward 54. The therapy program takes place from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:00. If you would like to visit your relative during this time, please discuss this in advance with the ward team.
Some of the therapies take place outside the ward or even outside the MHH. We therefore ask you to bring appropriate clothing.
- Meals are taken on the ward together with the other patients in the day room. You have the opportunity to choose your own meals each week from a menu plan. If you have any requests for additions or changes, please contact the nursing staff.
