Information on the ward
Welcome to our website
Ward 58 is part of the "Center for Mental Health".
In the inpatient setting, we offer 20 treatment places and provide intensive individual and group therapy. The inpatient community is a curative factor. The distance from your familiar home environment gives you the opportunity to learn to understand yourself and your situation better and to actively look for solutions together. You can then check the effectiveness and suitability of these solutions at regular intervals in your own home.
Our inpatient and integrated day-care treatment program consists of a scientifically based psychosomatic complex treatment. The integrated treatment concept includes elements of behavioral therapy as well as depth psychology, systemic and trauma therapy.
A special feature is the possibility of providing purely inpatient or integrated inpatient/day clinic treatment, depending on the indication. This makes it possible to switch from the ward to the day clinic (or vice versa) without having to change therapists.
Our nursing team consists of full-time and part-time registered nurses. All employees take part in internal and external training courses on various practice-related topics as part of Human Resources development. New employees are trained in accordance with an induction guideline developed by the ward. This enables us to guarantee our patients a high standard of safety, therapy and care.
We provide continuous care through a two-shift system and an on-call service at night.
Accommodation is mainly in single and double rooms and some triple rooms. The rooms are allocated according to medical and therapy-relevant criteria, whereby we try to take individual wishes into account. In addition, various common rooms and group rooms are available to our patients.
Our patients are able to take part in our therapy groups or are prepared for this by us. They are generally able to walk and can look after themselves.
Our main areas of treatment are
- Eating disorders
- somatoform disorders
- psychological trauma disorders
- severe anxiety disorders
- depression
- personality disorders
- psychological stress as a result of severe physical illness
Nursing works with us in a care system. This offers the greatest possible consistency in therapeutic work. Nursing is an integral part of the overall concept. In our multi-professional team (nursing, physicians, psychologists), each professional group is responsible for different "building blocks" of therapy. Each patient is seen individually and the treatment is planned and carried out individually. Individual and group work is evaluated in close cooperation and constant exchange.
The aim of our work is to support our patients in coping with their illness and to bring about stabilization so that they can learn to manage their lives again in order to improve their personal well-being and quality of life.
Our work is based on the nursing guidelines, the nursing mission statement and the MHH nursing concept.
The nursing staff also lead the following weekly group program, either independently or together with a physician/psychologist:
- Mindfulness training
- Affect regulation training
- Various home and welcome rounds
- creative therapy
- imagination
- Interaction and movement
- Body schema group
- Progressive muscle relaxation according to Jacobson
- Qi Gong
- Resource group
- Singing
- Social skills training
- Sports medicine
- Conversations with relatives
We support patients with eating disorders in maintaining a regular and adequate diet. We accompany our patients at their meals at the dinner table and discuss food diaries.
We develop social training with our patients, create a daily structure with our patients and ensure compliance with our house rules and regulations.
We are available around the clock, seven days a week, for supportive discussions as well as crisis intervention.

Service:
There is a television and a music system in the day rooms, as well as various books and games.
In the main building you will also find a library and an area with free internet access.

Discharge is carefully prepared with each patient. If necessary, appointments are made for outpatient therapy or a new therapy stay is discussed in the form of interval treatment.
An outpatient therapy group takes place every two weeks on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
An essential part of the therapy is working on therapy goals. These are formulated and updated by the therapeutic staff (as the ward's nursing staff call themselves) together with the patient. Concrete steps for implementation are worked out in weekly appointments and monitored by the therapeutic staff.
