Information on the ward
Welcome to our website
Ward 62 has six single rooms, all of which are equipped with an airlock. These special Facilities or Institutions enable spatial isolation, which protects our immunocompromised patients from harmful germs.
Our Nursing is based on the MHH mission statement and the nursing concept of Hannover Medical School. It is planned, carried out and evaluated in a patient-oriented manner, taking into account the psychosocial situation. We are responsible for a certain number of patients within the scope of departmental nursing.
Our nursing team consists of full-time and part-time registered nurses and nurses who undergo continuous further training. In addition to the specialist monthly training courses, many nurses have completed specialist further training in oncological care, palliative care or pain nursing. Participation in internal and external training courses is an integral part of our Human Resources. There are also regular team meetings and in-patient training sessions. New employees are introduced to their new tasks according to an induction guideline developed by the ward, which guarantees our patients a high standard of safety and care.
The team is also integrated into a rotation system in the area of pediatric bone marrow and stem cell transplantation (ward 64a) and the pediatric day clinic. This gives the nursing staff a continuous professional overview of the entire Department.
In addition, care assistants, federal volunteers, trainees and interns support us in our daily work. We ensure continuous care by working in a three-shift system in order to restore the well-being and health of our patients through interdisciplinary cooperation.
The focus of our nursing work is the monitoring, implementation and Nursing of patients with oncological and hematological diseases as well as care before or after a bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
This includes the early recognition and management of emergency situations as well as the extensive use of infusion, transfusion and pain therapies.
In the care and nursing of patients with tumors, we are guided by our concept for oncological care at the MHH.
