Information on the ward
Welcome to our website
Ward 87 is located in the "Center for Mental Health" with 27 treatment places. Our nursing team consists of qualified nurses and geriatric nurses. Some of them have completed additional training in social psychiatry or specialist training in geriatric psychiatry.
We ensure the quality of our nursing care through targeted participation in further and advanced training events, case and team supervision and inter-ward working groups. Our work is based on the nursing guidelines, the MHH mission statement and the MHH nursing concept.
Our nursing care on ward 87 takes the form of reference nursing. This means that one or two Nursing staff act as reference therapists or contact persons with regard to problems, planning therapy steps and setting goals during your inpatient stay. As reference therapists, we work closely with the attending physician and provide co-therapeutic support.
Work shadowing is generally possible on ward 87. However, it is essential that you notify the ward manager in good time if you wish to work shadowing. We ask that you contact us by telephone before submitting a written application so that we can clarify the requirements for a work shadowing placement in advance.
Psychiatric care on our ward is provided on a one-to-one basis and in therapeutic group sessions.
We focus on a multi-professional approach to comprehensive care. The close integration of all professional groups (psychologists, social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, medical service) on the ward and good cooperation with other wards in the Department as well as people and Facilities or Institutions providing further treatment guarantee this goal.
The general MHH visiting hours apply for our visitors to Ward 87. The therapy program takes place from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:00. If you would like to visit your relative during this time, please discuss this in advance with the ward team.
Some of the therapies take place outside the ward or even outside the MHH. We therefore ask you to bring appropriate clothing.
Meals are taken on the ward together with the other patients in the day room. You have the opportunity to choose your own meals each week from a menu plan. If you have any requests for additions or changes, please contact the nursing staff.
All professional groups on the ward are available to talk to and advise relatives. We would ask you to make an appointment with us in advance for consultations.
We care for patients on our wards in a "protected" environment. This means that the entrance door is usually locked. Exit arrangements are made individually for each patient by the medical service. During the course of treatment, there is also the possibility of stress testing in the home environment in consultation with the medical service.
- You enter the MHH through the main entrance (building K6) and walk through the shopping street to the "Center for Mental Health" entrance.
- There you go through the management corridor.
- At the end of the management corridor, please turn left and follow the signs to ward 87.
The entrance door is closed, as in many entrances to other specialist departments at the MHH. In this case, please use the bell on the door. Please make sure that the entrance door is closed again after entering the ward and report to the nursing support point.
To leave the ward, please report back to the nursing support point. Please also make sure that the door is closed again when you leave the ward.
