Information on the functional area
Welcome to our website
Our work is based on the MHH mission statement and the nursing concept of Hannover Medical School.
Our team consists of full-time registered nurses who are nursing experts in ostomy, continence and wounds (FgSKW) and/or qualified wound experts ICW.
Patients are cared for on a consultative basis in all departments of the MHH.
Participation in internal and external further training is an integral part of our Human Resources in order to restore the well-being and health of our patients through interdisciplinary cooperation.
Our nursing focus is on the care and support of patients with an artificial bowel and / or urine outlet (stoma). people who become stoma patients for various reasons, whether short or long term, experience a change in their personal life situation. They find this situation stressful, as all aspects of daily life are affected. Safe, reliable and discreet care is the key to supporting those affected and their relatives in dealing with an artificial bowel and/or urine outlet.
Another nursing focus is the care and support of patients with chronic wounds and wound healing disorders of various origins. These require individual treatment according to current standards. Wound care products are used according to the wound healing phases with the aim of improving wound healing and quality of life.
These complex treatments require a differentiated approach and a wide range of specific skills.
- You enter the building K 11 (Transplantation Clinic and Women's Clinic of the MHH) through the main entrance and go through the entrance hall to the rear part.
- Before the elevators, go left through the glass door to the visceral surgery outpatient clinic.
- There, please ask at the registration desk for the nursing experts of the wound and stoma team.
As the staff at the MHH work in a consultative capacity and are therefore often out and about in the building, the outpatient team will be happy to help you.
