"CIRS" and patient information in healthcare

Presentations:

  • The Critical Incident Reporting System (CIRS) as a reporting system for near-miss incidents has been implemented since 2003. The method of introduction, the evaluation of over 1,500 reports as well as the measures and forms of processing at Hannover Medical School will be presented.
  • The development of such reporting systems in Germany and Switzerland will be presented by representatives of the Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit Deutschland and the Stiftung für Patientensicherheit Schweiz.
  • Liability and organizational risks are significantly reduced and minimized through careful documentation. This will be demonstrated in an exemplary and practical way by anesthesiology.
  • Patient information and consent before medical interventions are adapted to the needs of patients. In the short to medium term, multimedia patient information will be expected by every patient and in future will be a patient requirement when choosing a hospital. One of the first multimedia explanations will be demonstrated.
  • The legal aspects of the above-mentioned topics and the implementation of new laws in everyday patient care will be explained from a legal perspective.
