Many intensive care clinical pictures are associated with restrictions in the perfusion of end organs. The treatment of unstable circulatory conditions is therefore crucial.

A disease of the abdominal cavity can lead to intra-abdominal hypertension in critically ill children. The possible consequence of this is abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS).

The working group focuses on drug incompatibilities, particle contamination of infusion solutions and the development of strategies to increase the safety of infusion therapy.

The working group deals with the optimization of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). This life-saving procedure is to be improved and made available to more patients.
