Research focus

Our research group investigates the molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in cancer cells. One branch of research is particularly concerned with protein catabolism and amino acid metabolism in acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We are interested in better understanding how these molecular factors influence the response to conventional chemotherapy. Another line of research focuses on the functional deciphering of intratumoral heterogeneity and its association with amino acid homeostasis in metastatic colorectal carcinomas. The focus of all investigations is the identification of new therapeutic targets and the resulting innovative drug strategies for the translation of experimental in vitro and in vivo analyses into the clinical context.
