Bright sunshine and pleasant spring temperatures: under ideal weather conditions, more than 25,000 runners took part in the ADAC Hannover Marathon on Sunday. The participants took on various distances such as the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon and 10 km run. Hannover Medical School (MHH) was represented this time by 250 motivated employees from medicine, nursing, research and administration, who joined together in 42 relay teams to complete the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers. After 38 relay teams last year, this was a new record number of participants. The bright green T-shirts of the MHH relay teams, sponsored by the MHH-plus Foundation, were easily recognizable from afar. The runners were supported along the route by around 230,000 people.

The fastest MHH relay team, the "MHH Running Snails", took an excellent 49th place in the relay classification with more than 700 mixed relays, placing them in the top 50.

Lydiah Schulz-Symon took on the challenge of the marathon alone and also carried a so-called EVA backpack (first aid kit) weighing 12 kilograms on her back. A particularly strong performance. "Thank you for letting me show EVA Hannover. It was a great experience. Fortunately, EVA was not used," said Schulz-Symon afterwards.

Congratulations to everyone involved - we are already looking forward to next year!
