Hanover universities open their lecture halls to children. Experts answer exciting questions from eight to twelve-year-olds.

For the 22nd time, the universities in Hanover are inviting children to a series of lectures in the winter semester 2025/26. From November to February, eight to twelve-year-old girls and boys can once again listen to experts explain topics, get answers to curious and exciting questions and learn about facts from everyday life and science. The main aim of the KinderUniHannover (KUH) is to encourage fun in learning and curiosity about science. Leibniz Universität Hannover, Hannover Medical School, the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation and the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media invite children to exciting lectures. The patron is Falko Mohrs, Lower Saxony's Minister for Science and Culture.
Blind Justizia, organ skin, how puppies are born and music in the brain
The lecture series will open on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 5:15 pm at Leibniz University. There, the children will learn why Justitia, the Roman goddess of justice, is blind. In the new year, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Medical University with the topic "Das Haut dich um. What our largest organ can do!". Two weeks later, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the University of Veterinary Medicine Foundation, the children will learn what happens before a dog gives birth to puppies. The lecture on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the University of Music, Drama and Media will focus on what music does to the brain.
The lectures take place on a Tuesday from 5:15 pm to around 6 pm, with admission from 4:30 pm. Attendance is free, registration is not required. The lectures are specially designed for children aged eight to twelve. Only children of this age have free admission to the auditorium. Parents, other accompanying adults and younger or older siblings can follow a live broadcast in a neighboring room.
