On November 11, 2022, the MHH-internal NUM Retreat took place at the Clinical Research Center (CRC) with the NUM project participants of the 1st and 2nd funding period. The welcome and introduction was given by Prof. Manns. Afterwards, 12 presentations with discussions highlighted the diversity of research topics on COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 in the NUM. The topics ranged from infection control, data management, sample collection and analysis, pandemic management, vaccinations and immunity, to social and economic challenges in patient care.
In a concluding discussion round, the relevance of the NUM and the structures it has created in all areas of Covid-19 / SARS-CoV-2 research were discussed and the extent to which the MHH has been able to benefit from the NUM so far. However, use was also made of the opportunity to express criticism.
