What do I learn in the MTR course?
The training structure is based on the MT-Berufe-Gesetz (MTBG) with the Ausbildungs- und Prüfungsverordnung (MTAPrV).
It comprises
1st semester
Introductory lessons in the areas of hospital organization, hygiene, psychology and
Theoretical and practical learning situations in:
- Radiological diagnostics, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy
- Natural sciences: physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics
- medical subjects: Anatomy, physiology and pathology
- a 3-week orientation internship
2nd to 5th semester
Learning situations and practical phases alternate in the individual departments (4-week rhythm); during the practical phases you are deployed both in the MHH and in and around Hanover.
European internships abroad are also possible through Erasmus+ funding

6th semester
Intensive exam preparation for the upcoming state examination (written, practical and oral).
After passing the exam, you will have a wide range of opportunities to work as an MTR,
as there are many vacancies in hospitals and radiology practices.
