De-registration
If you do not want to or cannot continue your studies at the MHH, e.g. because you have completed your degree, you must apply for de-registration. You can submit the application at any time.
The university will exmatriculate you if you have not paid the required fees and charges in the course of re-registration on time. De-registration will then take place at the end of the semester.
If you receive Federal financial aid, a student loan or a scholarship, please inform the relevant offices (e.g. Studentenwerk Hannover) of your de-registration immediately.
Further information on the subject of de-registration
If you exmatriculate at your own request, you will receive a certificate of exmatriculation from us, which you will need later for pension insurance, but also for other authorities such as health insurance, child benefit fund, etc.
You can apply for reimbursement of semester fees up to the following dates:
- Summer semester: 15.05.
- Winter semester: 15.11.
In this case, you must return your student ID card, as you will also receive a refund for the semester ticket.
After these deadlines, a refund for the semester in question is no longer possible.
Yes, you can decide for yourself whether you want to de-register on a date of your choice or at the end of the semester. However, retroactive de-registration is not possible.
You must complete the application for de-registration and submit it to the Student Office.
If you hand in your exmatriculation application in person at the Student Office during opening hours, you will receive your certificate of exmatriculation immediately. Otherwise, we will be happy to send you the certificate by post on request or you can collect it from the Student Office during opening hours.
You cannot take university examinations if you are no longer enrolled. There are exceptions to this for state examinations.
You must be enrolled in order to start the examination procedure for the Preliminary Examination in Natural Sciences and the Preliminary Examination in Dentistry. You may also be exmatriculated at the time of completing the examination.
Although the State Examination Office does not require you to be enrolled for state examinations, please note that you must be a member of the university and therefore enrolled for insurance reasons due to the practical part of the examination.
