The patient console

Patients are operated on via the patient console. However, this does not happen automatically. The 4-arm system of the "da Vinci" can only be moved by the assistants or by the surgeon from the console. The "da Vinci" therefore does not replace the physician, but is a modern aid that implements the surgeon's prescribed movements in the patient's body with maximum precision.

Either a camera or an instrument can be attached to each of the 4 arms. Very small incisions are made in the patient's abdomen, into which so-called introducer sleeves are inserted. They are then connected to the patient console and the operation can begin.
