Since 2018, in addition to open and laparoscopic (laparoscopy = keyhole technique) surgical procedures, we have also been offering robot-assisted surgery. The so-called "da Vinci" surgical system works with the help of sensitively controllable endoscopes and is therefore one of the most modern techniques in minimally invasive surgery.
The following operations are performed robot-assisted at the MHH Urology Department:
The surgeons control the "da Vinci Xi", which consists of a robotic unit with 4 arms, from a console. The operating field is displayed to the surgeon on a monitor using a three-dimensional magnified image.
This pioneering technology enables excellent visualization even under the tightest conditions and allows sutures, such as those required to restore the connection between the bladder and urethra after removal of the prostate, to be performed with the utmost precision.
We will be happy to advise you in our da Vinci special consultation on Tuesdays. You can find the contact details for our offices here:CONTACT
