Setting up the Microsoft Authenticator app
Would you like to set up a different authenticator and do without push notifications? Then continue here: Set up an alternative authenticator app
Open the page https://www.office.com and follow the steps below. Alternatively, you can call up the administration of the authentication methods directly via https://www.aka.ms/mysecurityinfo or https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and skip steps 2-4
Open the website https://www.microsoft365.com/ in your browser and log in with your primary MHH e-mail address and password.
Once you have successfully registered, click on the round logo with your initials or your picture, if you have already added one, in the top right-hand corner again
Now click on "Show account".
Select "Security information" in the left-hand menu .
You can speed up the previous steps by calling up the URL https://www.aka.ms/mysecurityinfo or https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
Click on "+ Add login method".
Select "Authenticator app" in the following window.
You can then add further login methods (see images 1-3).
Download the Microsoft Authenticator app to your smartphone. If you have already done this, please click on "Next".
Microsoft Authenticator for iOS or Android
If you would like to use a different authenticator app, e.g. Google Authenticator or Free Otp, please follow the instructions on the page under MFA with alternative authenticator app for Microsoft365 (from step 4).

Open Authenticator on your smartphone, select the plus symbol and thenAdd accountand then

Select business, school or university account and then tap Scan QR code.

Scan the QR code with the Microsoft Authenticator app. Check whether an entry with your MHH e-mail address has been added in Microsoft Authenticator and then click "Next".
If you cannot use your camera to scan a QR code, click on Image cannot be scanned on your PC and tap on Enter code manually on your cell phone.
A number will then be displayed and you will receive a notification with a new window on your smartphone or in your Microsoft Authenticator.
As confirmation, you will see that the notification has been approved.
Click "Next" to complete the Facilities or Institutions process.
Finally, you should see the "Microsoft Authenticator" login method you just added listed.
