Ms Wenke Walther has been a research associate at the Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine since September 2019, initially in the GKV-funded project "Implementation of hospice culture and palliative competence in nursing homes for the elderly" of the Diakonie Niedersachen and currently in the OrkA project "orofaciopharyngeal and linguistic-communicative activation in old age", which is funded by the Innovation Fund of the Joint Federal Committee.
After training as a speech therapist, she studied speech therapy at the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts (B.Sc., M.Sc.) in Hildesheim. In 2023, she completed her doctorate in the ImpAct project on the topic of "Hospice culture and palliative competence in inpatient care facilities for the elderly in Lower Saxony".
In addition to her scientific work, Ms. Walther is a teaching speech therapist at the School for Speech Therapy at the MHH and a lecturer on the HAWK's speech therapy study programs.
