Focus on new forms of care
Our healthcare system and the healthcare services provided by statutory health insurance companies are constantly being developed by the legislator. The aim here is to improve existing care services for the population, create new forms of care and close gaps in care by responding to people's needs and requirements. The introduction of these new forms of care raises the question of evaluations. Systematic empirical research into whether and how these new forms of care have been integrated into care practice, which patient groups benefit from these forms of care and what effect they have is of great interest. We are happy to include the perspectives of patients, their relatives, practitioners and institutional representatives. In our thematic focus "New forms of care", we address these issues and often intend to derive well-founded recommendations from the projects for legislators, among others, on how new forms of care should be further developed and adapted in order to further promote their implementation in everyday care.
