Rethmar talks: Oligometastasis
Further training event for physicians
The Rethmar Talks are the start of an interdisciplinary training series on current topics. On Saturday, 19.10.2024, the topic of oligometastasis in gastrointestinal tumors will kick off the series. A treatment decision is usually easy if a solitary, easily treatable metastasis is found. But what happens if another metastasis is diagnosed in another organ that is in principle easy to treat? Clear recommendations from the guidelines are not offered.
The symposium is divided into four sections: 1. general therapeutic approaches in the treatment of locally treatable metastases depending on the location (lung, liver, peritoneum, etc.). 2. metastases from malignant tumors of the upper gastrointestinal tract, 3. metastases from malignant tumors of the lower gastrointestinal tract and 4. metastases from malignant tumors of the pancreas. Based on case presentations, interdisciplinary treatment paths according to the current state of knowledge will be presented and discussed with the audience at the end of each section and voted on by majority decision.
We look forward to lively discussions on an exciting and current topic as well as to personal exchanges with all those interested in oncology from the region!
