250,000 euros for development projects in cancer medicine
The MHH Tumor Foundation is funding five projects from the Comprehensive Cancer Center

In the last year 2023, the Tumor Foundation once again gave the CCC Hannover the opportunity to support development projects in cancer medicine. The main selection criterion for the projects was support for the overall development strategy of the CCC Lower Saxony. A total of five projects were selected, each of which will be supported with 50,000 euros. The evaluation was carried out by the Extended Board of the CCC Hannover. The next call for proposals will take place in April 2024.
Funding will be provided:
- Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Linda Feldbrügge, Clinical Department of General, Visceral and Transplantation Medicine, with the project "Purinergic immune regulation, mediated by CD39, in the tumor immune environment of gastric and esophagogastric junction cancer and its peritoneal metastasis".
- Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ulrich Lehmann, Institute of Pathology, with the project "Liquid biopsy for molecular monitoring of the so-called "oligoprogression" of solid tumors".
- Dr. med. Nora Möhn, Clinical Department of Neurology, with the project "Identification of new biomarkers in patients with malignant gliomas".
- Prof. Dr. Nadine Schlüter, Clinical Department of Conservative Dentistry, Periodontology and Preventive Dentistry and Prof. Dr. Hans Christiansen, Clinical Department of Radiotherapy and Special Oncology, with the project "Dental and oral long-term consequences of radio- or radio-chemo-therapy in the head and neck area (DOR-KH)".
- Dr. phil. Sven Schwabe, Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine, with the project "Unexpected Survivorship - Researching and Improving the Occurrence, Experience and Support of Unexpected Survivorship in Oncology".
