Call for proposals for oncology funding projects
The Comprehensive Cancer Center Hannover (CCC) has been given the opportunity by the Tumor Foundation at the MHH to support development projects in cancer medicine in 2022 and 2023. Following a successful first round of applications, we would now like to move on to the second round of awards. The content of the projects is basically open, i.e. projects from all subject areas of the CCC can be submitted.
In the case of research projects, the aim is to obtain start-up funding with a high potential for subsequent transfer to an external funding application. A clear differentiation from any projects already in progress is required (booster funding is excluded). Joint research projects between working groups of the CCC Hannover and the Göttingen CCC (G-CCC) are particularly supported. In patient care , the projects must relate to gaps in care that cannot be covered by other funding. Projects in the areas of OnkoAkademie and Outreach can include external partners, but these cannot be recipients of project-related grants.
The main selection criterion will be support for the overall development strategy of the CCC Lower Saxony. For research-related applications, particular attention will be paid to the key areas of stratification-based therapies and resistance, infection and cancer and genome dynamics and immune regulation. Cooperation and networking of projects are expressly desired, although funding can only be provided within the MHH. Exceptions to this are joint projects with the UMG.
Four projects with a maximum amount of €60,000 each are also planned for funding in 2023. Applications must be submitted to the CCC office at ccc@mh-hannover.de by July 31, 2023 using the template. Applications will be reviewed by the Extended Board of the CCC Hannover. Funding is expected to start at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2023.
