At the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) of the MHH, renowned scientists work hand in hand to research cancer, its causes, effects on those affected and, above all, new treatment approaches. The CCC can look back on many years of international expertise in the field of basic research and translational research, which makes it possible to transfer findings from basic research into clinical application. In oncological care research, we focus on the effects of cancer on those affected, their environment and society.
We have divided our research activities into three research programs: Genome Dynamics and Immunoregulation, Stratification-based Therapy and Prevention and Health Services Research. We are involved in numerous national and international collaborative projects. In all research projects, we work closely with the biobank, the pathology department and the study center, among others.
We also offer novel and innovative therapy concepts as part of clinical trials for various types of cancer. Our patient representatives and the Patient Advisory Board are closely involved in the design of patient-related projects and clinical trials. We support young scientists within the framework of the OnkoAkademie of the CCC-N ® in with special junior researcher programs.
