Tumor documentation

The clinical cancer registry(tumor documentation) of the CCC Hannover aims to record all patients with cancer in the Clinical Departments and Centers at the MHH. The basis for this is §65c SGB V. With detailed and complete data on diagnoses, therapies, disease progression and aftercare, the registry pursues the goal of internal support for oncological quality assurance and control in order to achieve continuous improvement in the treatment and prevention of tumor patients.

Through the cooperation of all Clinical Departments of the CCC Hannover and a cross-clinical consolidation of all standardized data and information, there is the possibility of regular evaluations in the form of:

  • Outcome quality (e.g. quality of life, survival time)
  • Process quality (e.g. quality of the measures carried out, compliance with therapy standards)
  • Structural quality (e.g. proportion of early-stage cancers)

As part of the quality assurance process (certifications according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society), these can contribute to achieving a constant optimum in the care of cancer patients at our center.

Tumor documentation for the clinical cancer registry is carried out using the OnkoStar software and is an accompanying system to the hospital information system. The Central Tumor Documentation of the CCC Hannover was established to ensure quality-assured data collection.

The tumor documentation of the CCC Hannover reports the data to the Clinical State Cancer Registry of Lower Saxony on behalf of all Clinical Departments in accordance with the requirements of the State Cancer Registry Act.
