Outpatient psychotherapy
Patients with all psychiatric and psychosomatic illnesses can be treated in our psychotherapeutic outpatient clinics.
We offer outpatient psychotherapy for patients with statutory health insurance in the fields of behavioral therapy and depth psychology-based psychotherapy. The treatments take place in the context of further training as psychological psychotherapists and specialist psychotherapists as well as with the participation of students of psychotherapy (Master's program). All treatments are supervised by our experienced supervisors and our university-based outpatient team.
Patients with private insurance can also register for treatment - we then endeavor to find a suitable practitioner. In most cases, privately insured patients are treated by our in-house team of psychotherapists.
Modern psychotherapy
- In our outpatient clinics, modern psychotherapeutic interventions are offered alongside long-established classical methods and techniques of psychotherapy.
- It is therefore possible to undergo treatment in the methods of the third wave of behavioral therapy (CBASP, MCT, DBT, ACT, EFT or MBCT) as well as to use the new developments in depth psychology-based psychotherapy (IPT, ego-state therapy or MBT).
- We can draw on the full range of university psychiatric and psychosomatic care for the patients in our outpatient clinic.
- It is therefore possible to combine outpatient treatment with inpatient or day clinic treatment if required. In addition, under certain circumstances there is the possibility of psychiatric or psychosomatic medical clarification and co-treatment via the outpatient clinics of the psychiatric and psychosomaticClinical Departments of the MHH.
Course of treatment
After registering, you will receive an appointment for our psychotherapeutic consultation hours, depending on availability. You will normally be examined during two consultations and receive detailed information about any diagnoses and recommendations for further treatment. The consultations also take place in the context of further training for psychological psychotherapists and specialist psychotherapists and, if necessary, with the participation of students on the Master's degree course in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy.
In addition to various treatment options, the possibility of inclusion on our waiting list for treatment is also examined during the consultation. If admission to our waiting list is possible, you will be contacted by one of our therapists after a waiting period to arrange your first treatment appointment. Over the course of three further appointments, the therapist will carry out in-depth diagnostics with you and draw up a treatment plan so that you can then apply to your health insurance provider for outpatient psychotherapy.
Short-term psychotherapies with up to 24 treatment hours or long-term psychotherapies with up to 60 treatment hours are usually carried out.
