Our research for medicine

In the MHH's Clusters of Excellence, we bundle top international research on central medical issues. The close integration of basic research and clinical expertise creates new approaches for diagnosis, therapy and prevention. Our currently funded EXC RESIST and H4A as well as the completed EXC REBIRTH are closely interwoven with our research foci Infection & Immunity, Biomedical Technology & Implants and Transplantation & Regeneration.

RESIST – since 2019

Why do infections unfold differently? We are deciphering the molecular causes of susceptibility to infection for individual prevention and treatment strategies.

Hearing4All – since 2012

Our goal is "Hearing for all". Through individualized hearing diagnostics and intelligent aids, we improve Communications for people with hearing loss worldwide.

REBIRTH – 2006 to 2019

REBIRTH explored regenerative processes from their molecular basis to clinical application and developed new approaches for reconstructive therapies.
