Fertility surgery
Prof. Dr. med. Cordula Schippert
The experience of our reproductive medicine specialists in organ-preserving fertility surgery (fallopian tubes, fibroids, endometriosis) for women with an unfulfilled desire to have children is in demand beyond national borders.
In the field of microsurgery, we treat patients with benign pelvic diseases such as fallopian tube, ovarian and uterine diseases as part of fertility treatment.
Our specialties include the exclusion of organic factors of involuntary childlessness by means of hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and patency testing of the fallopian tubes, myoma removal, including extensive findings with uterine preservation, surgical removal of endometriosis with a special focus on preserving fertility, uterine anaesthesia and the reconstruction of uterine dehiscences after sectiones.

Drug therapies
- e.g. ulipristal acetate incl. monitoring of effectiveness, administration of GnRH analogs if indicated
All common surgical methods
- incl. surgical hysteroscopy, laparoscopies partly using morcellation for large fibroids and mini-myoma parotomies for extensive findings
Latest surgical methods
- incl. use of MyoSure® for hysteroscopic resection or transvaginal intrauterine radiofrequency ablation (Sonata®)
Referral to colleagues in MHH radiology if embolization is desired (contraindicated if you wish to have children)
Referral to centers outside the MHH that offer MRI-guided focused ultrasound (e.g. Dachau, Cologne, etc.) If necessary and suitable, we also participate in international studies in which patients can be included if desired.
