Patient universityHealth education for ALL - communicating medical knowledge in an understandable way
DKMS LIFE gemeinnützige Gesellschaft mbH, in cooperation with our Clinical Department, offers free cosmetic seminars for cancer patients during ongoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
In the patient program look good feel better, participants are encouraged to look in the mirror again and "bring color into their lives" in a skillful way.
Trained, professional cosmetics experts give tips on facial care and make-up in an approx. 1.5-hour "hands-on program". The participants are shown how to use simple tricks to conceal the external consequences of the therapy, such as skin spots, loss of eyelashes or eyebrows.
The women apply their own make-up so that they can do this easily after the seminar.
The motto, which is intended to encourage more courage to face life and thus help build up a new quality of life, is "Help for self-help: feeling better by looking good".
For cancer patients, cosmetics are much more than just make-up - they can be therapy and life support. After all, a positive attitude to life has been proven to support the healing process.
Further information, dates and registration for the online cosmetics seminars can be found at https://www.dkms-life.de/
Dear patient,
Sport, exercise and dosed physical training can be carried out by most patients with breast cancer with great success for fitness and well-being. It has been scientifically proven many times that regular endurance and strength training significantly improves the self-perceived quality of life and fatigue syndrome in patients with breast cancer.
Researchers have shown that at least 3 times 1 hour of exercise per week can also have a positive effect on the long-term course of cancer. Exercise also improves concomitant diseases such as osteoporosis or high blood pressure.
Training is often done together with others in small groups. In addition to the aforementioned training effects, the focus here is also on having fun while exercising.
It is important for you that an exercise and training program is developed for you personally. The content and goals should be based on your individual capacity. The staff at the Institute of Sports Medicine specialize in this. Both athletes and patients with serious illnesses (e.g. organ transplants, cancer) receive individual support with their sports and training program. We look forward to seeing you in the new training rooms of the Institute of Sports Medicine in the middle of the MHH and will be happy to help you to develop a sports, exercise and training program tailored to your personal needs and, if necessary, to carry it out together.
BRING MOVEMENT INTO YOUR LIFE - JOIN IN!
When does the training start?

What do we need from you?

How do you train with us?
The content of rehabilitation sports or medical training therapy is adapted to your personal requirements and your physical fitness
. The exercise units are then usually carried out in small groups. Our physicians and sports scientists will be happy to help you
