Welcoming the 5th year (2025/26)
We warmly welcome the medical doctoral students and computer science students in the 5th year (2025/26) of DigiStrucMed.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Anette Melk, spokesperson of the DigiStrucMed program and Dean of Academic Career Development, and PD Dr. Hans Worthmann, Clinical Department of Neurology, got the participants in the mood for the coming year with informative presentations at the welcome event on Friday, 22 August 2025.
Information event for students on February 04, 2025
On Tuesday, February 04, 2025 at 4 p.m. s.t., the joint information event of the Hannover Biomedical Research School for students on the StrucMed, KlinStrucMed and DigiStrucMed programs will take place.
16:00-17:00: Presentation of the programs by the spokespersons
17:00-18:00: Exchange with colleagues (students of computer science and medicine) and alumni
The event is aimed at medical students as well as students of computer science or data science.

Project speed dating conference on November 27, 2024
This year's project speed dating conference to initiate projects for the 5th year 2025/26 will take place on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 14:00 to 16:30 in a hybrid format via teams and in lecture hall E of the Hannover Medical School.
The conference serves as an initial exchange of project ideas and existing expertise in the Department and is used for further project development. The deadline for submitting complete project proposals is January 15, 2025.
A Power Point template for preparing the Speed Dating Conference, in which the project and the required expertise of the desired partner are queried, can be found in the download area. If you are interested in participating, please enter your project idea(s) in the document and send us the short presentation by 21.11.2024. Interested parties without project proposals are also welcome to attend the conference in order to possibly find a suitable project in which they can contribute their expertise as a partner. During the meeting, project proposals ("requests") will be presented and suitable project partners ("offers") will be found. As a side effect of the conference, we would also like to promote the development of new collaborations between medicine and informatics independently of DigiStrucMed.
To participate in the conference with or without a project proposal, please register by 21.11.2024 at (DigiStrucMed@mh-hannover.de). Further information on the conference schedule and the invitation to teams will be sent by email.

Interested project managers submit their project ideas/proposals in short form. The project leaders present their project ideas ("application") at a speed dating conference. Interested parties who do not have specific project ideas can also present their research interests and expertise ("offer") and thus support the search for project partners. Following the conference, the participants make contact with each other and form project teams. The project teams develop the project ideas further and submit the result in the form of a project proposal by email.

On Monday, February 12, 2024 at 5 p.m. s.t., the joint information event of the Hannover Biomedical Research School for students on the StrucMed, KlinStrucMed and DigiStrucMed programs will take place.
The event is aimed at medical students as well as students of computer science or data science.

Project exchange for students and project managers on March 17, 2023
This year's project exchange of the DigiStrucMed program will take place on 17 March. At the exchange, the projects on offer will be presented by the respective project managers. Students will also have the opportunity to present themselves.
Applications for the program are still possible until Monday, 13 March 2023 (medical students) or Friday, 31 March 2023 (computer science students).
If there are still places available in projects after the end of the 1st admission procedure and matching of students, these will be allocated as part of a 2nd admission procedure. Applications received after the application deadline will be considered in a 2nd admission procedure until all places have been filled.
Digital Oncology Conference 2023 on March 15-16, 2023
On March 15-16, 2023, the Digital Oncology Conference, a scientific symposium and networking platform for research in digital oncology, will take place. The conference aims to strengthen interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaborations and provide an overview of the potential and challenges of using digital strategies in cancer research and healthcare. As part of the conference, national and international spokespersons will present their research projects in the field of digital health. Students of the 2nd year DigiStrucMed are involved in the organization of the conference as well as in the program design of the abstract and poster presentations.
Topics of the conference are:
Digital and Computational Histopathology, AI to Advance Cancer Imaging, Digital Surgery, Machine Learning and Visualization Techniques for Clinical Decision Support in Oncology, AI and Machine Learning Techniques Improving Cancer Research, Building Trust in Artificial Intelligence Models and Digital Methods in Medical Education

We are still looking for interested partners/researchers/group leaders with project proposals (project leaders) from the fields of medicine and computer science to come together at a project speed dating conference. The conference will serve as an initial project exchange and will take place on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 14:00 - 16:30 in a hybrid format via teams as well as on site at Hannover Medical School.

Project exchange for students and project managers on April 20, 2022
This year's project exchange of the DigiStrucMed program will take place on 20 April. At the exchange, the 10 projects on offer will be presented by the respective project managers. Students will also have the opportunity to present themselves.
We still have places available for computer science students: If you are interested in the program, you are welcome to participate in the first part of the project exchange.
