Biostatistics, omics techniques and big data (BCM WP 14)
Qualification objective
To impart basic methodological, bioinformatic and biostatistical knowledge for planning, evaluating and interpreting experiments in the fields of Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics and Glycomics
Competencies
After successfully completing the module, students will be able to,
- plan omics experiments independently, taking into account key points such as the number of samples, sample collection, hypotheses/research questions, the statistical analysis concept based on these and the costs incurred.
- evaluate, interpret and assess the generated data using basic biostatistical methods.
- use bioinformatic and statistical programs, interpret the results and draw conclusions and inferences from them.
