Lisa Brünig works as a research associate in the project “Discrimination in healthcare—experiences in the context of racism, disability, and gender,” which is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture. From 2020 to 2025 Lisa has been working as the coordinator of the Competence Centre for Gender-Sensitive Medicine at the Institute for Ethics, History and Philosophy of Medicine at the MHH.
She completed her Bachelor's degree in Political Science in the study programme "Public Administration with a focus on European Studies" at the WWU Münster and the University of Twente in Enschede. In her Bachelor's thesis entitled "Immigrant Health in Germany. An intersectional perspective on migration policies and the example of Bremen", she dealt with the intersection of gender, health and migration.
From 2016 to 2020, Lisa Brünig studied for a Master's degree in Social Science Diversity Research at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. She completed a semester abroad at the University of Vienna with a focus on gender studies, sociology and political science. In her Master's thesis, she dealt with the topic of abortion and the amendment of §219a StGB from a power-critical perspective.
Lisa is a PhD student at the Diversity Research Institute at the University of Göttingen. In her ongoing doctoral project, she takes an intersectional perspective on the political struggle around the right to and access to abortion in Germany.
