- Basic knowledge of mammography setting techniques and quality standards
Specific learning objectives

Quality criteria of mammograms.

Learning the BIRADS classification

Knowledge of the macro- and microscopic anatomy as well as the clinical pictures of the mammary gland and their age-dependent frequency.

Knowledge of age-dependent radiological and sonographic normal findings and pathologies of the breast.

Knowledge of the indications and technical features of mammography and tomosynthesis, breast sonography and MR
- Gynecological and urological CT and MRI examinations: Indication assessment, planning, safety aspects, implementation, acceptance, patient discussion, data analysis
Practical activity

Learning how to inspect and palpate the breasts;

Interpretation/reporting of mammographic, sonographic and MR tomographic breast examinations in a double reporting procedure with the responsible specialist or senior physician,

Determining indications for further examinations (tomosynthesis, target images, MRI, biopsies)

Practical learning of the mammography setting technique (1 working day, in consultation with the MTRAs at the Breast Center)

Communication/demonstration of findings to patient and referring physician, written structured findings under the supervision of the responsible specialist

- Consolidation of the contents of the basic rotation
- Learning sonographic, mammographic and MR-tomographic biopsy procedures
- Interpretation/reporting of MRI and CT for gynecological and urological issues
