Single center: Rare metabolic diseases
The Center for Metabolic Diseases cares for patients of all ages (from newborns to adults) with inborn errors of metabolism.
Congenital metabolic diseases include disorders of energy metabolism as well as disorders in the metabolic breakdown pathways of proteins, fatty acids and carbohydrates, including transporter disorders.
Diagnostics and therapy are offered in-house for numerous metabolic diseases, including transplantation of organs and cells for selected indications.

- Development of a modular training program for phenylketonuria as a model disease
- Investigation of neurological comorbidities in chronically ill children
