Research Funding Acknowledgement

It is part of scientific practice that you refer to any third-party funding organisations that have supported your project in your publication.  For a correct evaluation in literature databases, it is important that this entry is standardised. The third-party funding organisations indicate the correct attribution in various places.

Example DFG

The DFG's usage guidelines (p. 42) stipulate the following form:

  • In German-language publications

“Gefördert durch die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - [Project number(s)]”.

  • In English-language publications

“funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) – [Project number(s)]”.

The project number of the referenced project can be found on the funding approval letter or in the GEPRIS project information system. If a publication refers to multiple projects, the numbers must be separated by semicolons.
