The tasks of the department include the transportation of food, beverages, pharmacy goods, textiles, medical supplies, office supplies, sterile goods, medical equipment, hazardous substances and gases, blood products and laboratory samples as well as furniture.

Horizontal transportation is carried out on campus using electric tractors in tugger trains via the MHH tunnel system. The goods are transported to and collected from the user in 1000 trolleys every day, including 250 packages as express goods. A large part of the supply and disposal is carried out via regular tours.

External MHH buildings, departments and research facilities are supplied with goods and mail by two 3.5-tonne trucks.
