The main task of this department is the transportation of patients within the MHH. Around 270,000 patient transports are carried out each year. Around three quarters of patient transports are carried out in bed. The patient transport service is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In addition, around 120,000 other transports such as beds, stretchers, bronchoscopes, endoscopes and TEE probes are carried out by the patient transport service.
