Lockers

Terms of use for lockers in buildings I01 and I02

Preamble

The lockers in buildings I01 and I02 are available to students primarily for examinations during their studies in the examination lecture halls in I01 (lecture hall F) and I02 (lecture hall D). Use during examinations is voluntary.

Responsibility and purpose

  • The lockers in buildings I01 and I02 are provided by the Office of Academic Affairs Human Medicine.
  • Lockers are only available to MHH students.
  • Lockers are primarily used for examinations in Human medicine, for the secure storage of smartphones and other electronic devices that are not permitted in the examination rooms.
  • Long-term use outside of the examination periods is not permitted. In the event of non-compliance, the Office of Academic Affairs may prohibit individuals from using the lockers and open them.
  • Dangerous or unhealthy substances or objects may not be stored in the lockers, and perishable food may not be stored for long periods of time.
  • The lockers must be handled with care and protected from damage and soiling.

Loss and opening by the Office of Academic Affairs

  • The loss of the locker must be reported immediately to the Office of Academic Affairs (e-mail: studiendekanat@mh-hannover.de / phone: 05115329014). Any costs incurred for replacement and opening are to be reimbursed by the user.
  • Deanery staff are authorized to open the lockers for inspection, in case of danger, improper use and in case of loss of the key. Opening is always carried out by at least two members of deanery staff (dual control principle). Spare keys are only kept locked in the Office of the Dean and are only available to the management.
  • If a key is lost, the locker will only be opened during the Office of the Dean's office hours. There is no entitlement to opening outside office hours.
  • Items are only issued to users upon presentation of a suitable document for identity verification. The issue is documented by the dean's office staff and signed on both sides (personal details, time, items, condition of the items)
  • Items removed from the lockers when they are opened without the user being present are kept in the Office of the Dean for seven days and then handed over to the Hannover Medical School's lost and found office. The key deposit taken from the vacated lockers expires.
  • A deposit of an appropriate amount may be charged for the provision of keys (coin deposit).

Liability

  • Use of the lockers is at your own risk.
  • The Office of the Dean or the MHH assume no liability for the items brought in.
  • The exclusion of liability does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence by employees.
  • Storage in the lockers does not constitute safekeeping by the Office of Academic Affairs of the MHH.
