Information on the ward
Welcome to our website
Our Nursing is based on the MHH mission statement and the nursing concept of Hannover Medical School. It is planned, carried out and evaluated in a patient-oriented manner, taking into account the psychosocial situation. We are responsible for a certain number of patients within the scope of nursing care.
Accommodation is provided in single, double and multi-bed rooms, which are generally allocated according to medical criteria. Individual wishes are taken into account as far as possible.
Our nursing team consists of full-time and part-time registered nurses (some with additional qualifications). Participation in internal and external training is an integral part of our Human Resources. New colleagues are introduced to their new tasks in accordance with an induction guideline developed by our ward, which ensures a high standard of safety and care for our patients.
We work for you in a three-shift system and can therefore offer continuous care. It is important to us to restore the health and well-being of our patients within the framework of interprofessional cooperation.
As an IMC ward(*), we care for patients from all areas of internal medicine for whom close monitoring is necessary. Our task and obligation is to protect patients from any complications, promote resources and respond to the individual needs of our patients. This includes providing or taking over assistance with personal hygiene, mobilization, eating and much more, as well as carrying out or supporting prophylaxis (preventive measures).
(*) IMC=Intermediate Care: The IMC is the link between the intensive care unit with its comprehensive therapeutic and intensive care options and the normal ward, where close monitoring of the patient is not possible due to the lower staffing levels.
Through internal further and advanced training, regular patient surveys and participation in ward rounds, we ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of the care process and thus the quality of care. This is supported by the electronic patient file.
Holistic care is provided through care measures such as
- Treatment care (e.g. wound care, infusions)

These links enable us to provide comprehensive patient care for all necessary needs.
In the care and nursing of patients with tumors, we are guided by our concept for oncological care at the MHH.
We aim to transfer our patients from the Central Emergency Room to the relevant specialist department as quickly as possible. In this respect, the stay on ward 13 can only be of short duration.
We work closely with the MHH's hospital hygiene department and take part in the nationwide "Clean Hands Campaign".
