Information on the ward
Welcome to our website
Our Nursing is based on the MHH mission statement and the nursing concept of Hannover Medical School. It is planned, carried out and evaluated in a patient-oriented manner, taking into account the psychosocial situation. We are responsible for a certain number of patients as part of the area nursing.
Accommodation on ward 22 is in single, double and multi-bed rooms, which are generally allocated according to medical criteria. We are happy to accommodate individual requests.
Our nursing team consists of full-time and part-time registered nurses. Participation in internal and external training courses is an integral part of our Human Resources. New colleagues are introduced to their new tasks in accordance with an induction guideline developed by our ward, which guarantees our patients a high standard of safety and care.
We guarantee continuous care by working in a three-shift system in order to restore the well-being and health of our patients through interdisciplinary cooperation.
The focus of our nursing work is on the care and support of patients with cardiological-angiological diseases, before and after diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheter examinations, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, transfemoral aortic and middle valve replacements, electrophysiological interventions for malignant cardiac arrhythmias and support during recovery after heart failure (cardiac decompensation).
Another major part of our work is taking over patients from the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (Ward 24), the Central Emergency Room and Ward 11 (admission ward). Continuous monitoring of vital parameters is possible at every bed location. Patients undergoing complex interventions and malignant arrhythmias are monitored telemetrically with the aim of ensuring the greatest possible safety. The special feature here is the continuous monitoring of values in the cardiology intensive care unit, which ensures additional patient safety on the ward.
Our close cooperation between all nursing and medical teams in the intensive care unit, the cardiac catheterization laboratory and the arrhythmia outpatient clinic simplifies our organizational processes and ensures the fastest possible, high-quality patient care.
If you arrive for a scheduled admission, you will be contacted by our cardiac catheterization office. The letter will tell you the date of your admission and the time at which you should be on the ward.
Do you have any further questions about your admission date? Then please contact our colleagues in the Cardiac Catheter Office.
On the day of admission, we ask that you first register with your insurance card in the admission area of the ward block and then report to the ward. Depending on the planned procedure, you will then undergo various preliminary examinations such as blood tests, ECG or ultrasound of the heart. During your admission consultation, your ward physician will inform you about your upcoming examinations and answer any questions you may have.
Please note: Your bed space may only be available to you in the late morning because beds and bedside cabinets are cleaned by a mobile cleaning team beforehand.
You can obtain certificates for your employer, your health insurance company or cab tickets from our case manager.
