Our team
The core team of the pediatric surgical OR is headed by Ms. Andrea Kolbe and consists of competent staff. Trainees from the "OTA/ATA" school for surgical and anaesthesia technical assistance rotate through the paediatric surgical operating theatre, as do colleagues who are completing their specialist training in surgical and endoscopic Nursing. Trainees from the School of Nursing and Pediatric Nursing are also assigned to the pediatric surgical OR during their training, where they are supervised by practical instructors and mentors. This staffing ratio allows us to ensure that every pediatric surgical operation is accompanied by an excellently trained and experienced team of instruments and jumpers in this complex field. This also includes the highly specialized perfusionists who operate the heart-lung machines during paediatric heart surgery and thoracic organ transplants.
