Pediatric registry for stem cell transplants and cell therapies

The PRSZT is the Cooperative Pediatric Registry for Stem Cell Transplants and Cell Therapies in Germany. The aim of the registry is to collect data on transplantation and cell therapy from all children receiving stem cell transplants in Germany and to pass this data on to the EBMT (European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation). This data collection serves to improve the quality of treatment in the long term and to support research, i.e. to gain new insights into the optimal treatment and medical aftercare of transplanted children. Furthermore, it can also be determined how many transplants are carried out in children.

Through the central documentation and evaluation of the transplantation, we expect a better exchange of new findings regarding transplantation successes and problems for the patients and the treating physicians. Through national and international cooperation with study centers, comprehensive registries and selected experts, this knowledge should be made available to many patients and their treating physicians as quickly as possible. The PRSZT compiles an annual report on stem cell transplants in children in Germany and is responsible for the annual reports to the EBMT registry.

Dr. Rita Beier and her deputy Dr. Barbara Meissner are in charge of the registry.
