The Peter L. Reichertz Institute (PLRI) supervises and develops the eLearning content at Hannover Medical School. The aim is to sustainably improve training and further education at the MHH using modern information and communication technologies. Innovative, web-based teaching, learning and examination methods are intended to support the transfer of medical and nursing knowledge as well as clinical skills.

As part of various research projects, the PLRI has established an infrastructure of eLearning applications and services. The learning management system (LMS) ILIAS and the content management system (CMS) Medical Schoolbook form the technical basis for eLearning for academic teaching and eLearning for professional education and training.

The PLRI also supports MHH teaching staff in the creation of teaching videos and offers individual counseling, training and assistance.

The interdisciplinary eLearning team supports lecturers in the realization of their eLearning ideas and deals with various technological and media-didactic research questions.

When developing new eLearning courses, the PLRI works closely with various human medicine and dentistry departments and clinics, the nursing department and the office of Academic Affairs at Hannover Medical School.
