Modern treatment centres that rely on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotic surgery, telemedicine and automation to improve patient care will continue to grow in importance in the coming years. The American weekly magazine Newsweek lists the 350 smartest hospitals worldwide in its ‘World's Best Smart Hospitals 2026’ ranking. The Hannover Medical School (MHH) now appears in 115th place for the first time – as the ninth best smart hospital in Germany and the only one in Lower Saxony.
‘The MHH wants to respond resiliently to global challenges and is positioning itself as a central driving force for future-oriented health research and healthcare,’ says MHH President Professor Denise Hilfiker-Kleiner. ‘This fantastic ranking is a great success for the entire MHH and shows that our focus on innovation in healthcare is paying off. At the same time, however, the award is also an incentive for us to continuously improve.’
