'Do not become an offender'
Dark field prevention project
The prevention network 'Kein Täter werden' was founded in 2005 at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin at the Institute of Sexology and Sexual Medicine. The Hanover site of the project was opened in 2012 at the MHH in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Sexual Medicine.
The project offers anonymous, free and confidential diagnosis and treatment for people who feel sexually attracted to children and/or adolescents and/or who consume images of sexual abuse of children and/or adolescents (so-called 'child pornography') and seek therapeutic help.
The aim of the therapy is to help those affected to come to terms with their own sexuality in order to help them live responsibly with their addiction.
The therapy, as offered in the project network, aims to offer support to those affected in order to prevent sexual assault through direct physical or indirect contact (for example through the consumption or production of abusive images).
Anyone wishing to participate must be aware of the problem of their sexual impulses towards children and/or young people and be willing to seek therapeutic help of their own accord. In addition, they must be in the so-called 'dark field', i.e....
-
Persons who have not yet committed any criminal offenses (sexual assaults, consumption of abusive images, etc.), but fear that they may do so in the future.
-
Persons who have already committed criminal offenses but are not (yet) known to the law enforcement authorities.
-
Persons who have already committed criminal offenses and have been charged and/or convicted, provided that they have served their sentence in full, are no longer under judicial supervision and all legal matters have been concluded.
The therapy program does not include persons who are currently under investigation for possible criminal offences, who have not fully served their sentence and/or whose sentence includes conditions or probation.
