Heart failure, individual training, telemonitoring and self-management
Complementary strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure
More and more people are suffering from heart failure, a condition in which the heart is no longer able to supply the body with sufficient blood and oxygen. Patients with severe obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and other heart diseases are at increased risk. Typical symptoms are shortness of breath, fatigue and an increasingly limited ability to cope with everyday stress. The Institute of Sports Medicine at Hannover Medical School (MHH) offers patients diagnosed with heart failure the opportunity to participate in the study project "Heart failure, individual training, telemonitoring, self-management".
This innovative project helps you as a patient to make the often necessary lifestyle changes and to design an active and successful exercise therapy at home.
Physical training is crucial to halting the progression of heart failure. It also stabilizes the immune system. The coronavirus situation therefore makes it particularly important for patients at risk to remain active, even if training in groups is not currently possible. You will be supported in this by an app specially developed for the study: A program that simplifies the daily documentation of your vital signs for you as a patient. Continuous monitoring of your vital signs gives you more confidence in everyday life and additional motivation for active rehabilitation. Online training is also made possible by the app. Study participants train independently at home using professionally guided videos.
