50 years of transplantation in children and adolescents: High-performance medicine in times of Covid-19
The first Advent Lecture of the Transplant Centre of Hannover Medical School (MHH) took place on December 3, 2020. The event was recorded with Minister President Stephan Weil as guest speaker.
In the video, Minister President Weil talks about patient care and the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Lower Saxony. He discusses the impact on high-performance medicine using the example of transplantation with panel members from the MHH.
Prof. Tobias Welte, Acting Head of Patient Care at MHH, Vera Lux, Managing Director Nursing at MHH, PD Dr. Nicolaus Schwerk, Clinical Department of Paediatric Pneumology, Allergology and Neonatology at MHH and Juliane Brauner, Patient Advisory Board Transplant Centre will be on the panel.
The Transplant Centre celebrated a milestone anniversary with this event: on December 4, 1970, the first organ transplantation in children and adolescents took place at the MHH. A 13-year-old girl received a donor kidney.
