Diagnostics and treatment

From diagnosis to aftercare

The MHH has a wide range of diagnostic examination procedures and interdisciplinary treatment methods that reflect medical progress. This enables us to offer our patients quality-assured and innovative care.

The disease always begins with a reliable diagnosis

At the MHH, our patients have access to state-of-the-art examination procedures and proven specialists. Imaging procedures (such as ultrasound, computer tomography, magnetic resonance examinations, examinations with radioactive substances) using the latest equipment or endoscopic examinations of hollow organs and body cavities are usually preceded by targeted tissue samples, followed by histological examinations. Laboratory tests and, if necessary, genetic or molecular examinations complete the diagnosis. Our patients are cared for on an outpatient and inpatient basis by a multi-professional team.

Individual treatment plan for every patient

Surgical disciplines work hand-in-hand with the Departments of Radiology, Pathology, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and Internal Oncology under one roof. In interdisciplinary tumor conferences, our medical specialists develop an individual treatment plan for every single person with cancer.

Holistic treatment, innovative therapies

We attach particular importance to holistic treatment and keep a close eye on the personal needs and wishes of our patients. Support and advice is provided, for example, by our Klaus Bahlsen Center for Integrative Oncology with a focus on complementary medicine/naturopathic procedures, psycho-oncology, social services, rehabilitation and sports medicine, nutritional advice, pain therapy or oncological specialist care.

If standard therapies have failed or if better treatment approaches could possibly be found, we offer our patients treatment options in clinical trials.

Second opinion

In addition to patients who are already being treated at the MHH, those who are planning or have already started treatment outside the MHH can also present themselves at our outpatient clinics and consultations to obtain a second opinion.
